All Types of General Surgeries

General surgery is the surgical specialty that focuses on the abdominal organs. Despite the term "general", surgeons that practice general surgery are highly skilled surgeons that typically operate on common abdominal complaints including appendicitis, hernias, gallbladder surgeries, stomach and intestinal issues. Surgeons who choose to work in a specialty first complete a general surgery residency before further training in a specialty.

Laparoscopic Surgeries

Laparoscopic surgery also referred to as minimally invasive surgery describes the performance of surgical procedures with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments. During the surgical procedure, small incisions of up to half an inch are made and plastic tubes called ports are placed through these incisions. The camera and the instruments are then introduced through the ports which allow access to the inside of the patient. The camera transmits an image of the organs inside the abdomen onto a television monitor. The surgeon is not able to see directly into the patient without the traditional large incision. The video camera becomes a surgeon's eyes in laparoscopy surgery, since the surgeon uses the image from the video camera positioned inside the patient's body to perform the procedure.

Gynae and Uro Surgeries

Gynaecology or gynecology[1] is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (uterus, vagina, and ovaries). Literally, outside medicine, it means "the science of women". Its counterpart is andrology, which deals with medical issues specific to the male reproductive system. Almost all modern gynaecologists are also obstetricians (see obstetrics and gynaecology). In many areas, the specialties of gynaecology and obstetrics overlap. Gynaecology has been considered to end at 28 weeks gestation, but practically there is no clear cut-off..

Pulse Oximeter

Pulse oximetry is a non-invasive method allowing the monitoring of the saturation of a patient's hemoglobin. A sensor is placed on a thin part of the patient's body, usually a fingertip or earlobe, or in the case of an infant, across a foot. Light of two different wavelengths is passed through the patient to a photo detector. The changing absorbance at each of the wavelengths is measured, allowing determination of the absorbance due to the pulsing arterial blood alone, excluding venous blood, skin, bone, muscle, fat, and (in most cases) nail polish. With NIRS it is possible to measure both oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin on a peripheral scale (possible on both brain and muscle).

NIBP

Indirect Blood Pressure (NIBP) Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) is widely used for routine BP measurement in awake or anesthetized animals. The basic technique is straightforward: a cuff placed at the base of the tail is inflated to occlude blood flow, then the cuff is slowly deflated while monitoring for the return of pulsatile flow. The cuff pressure at the time of the first appearance of pulses indicates systolic BP. What separates the various available NIBP systems is the method of pulse detection and measurement. Rats and other rodents control blood flow to the tail as a means of thermoregulation. When the ambient temperature exceeds approximately 28-30°C, blood flow to the tail increases, making NIBP measurements easier. Systems using the less-sensitive piezoelectric sensors require elevated temperatures. The more sensitive photoelectric sensors permit measurement at ambient temperature. The systems sold by CWE are equipped with specially-designed photoelectric sensors optimized for low-temperature measurements. This results in the least stress to the animal as well as the most accurate measurements.

Difibrillator

An automated external defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient,[1] and is able to treat them through defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm. With simple audio and visual commands, AEDs are designed to be simple to use for the layman, and the use of AEDs is taught in many first aid, first responder, and basic life support (BLS) level CPR classes.

Foetal Doppler Machine

Foetal Doppler Machine is a hand-held obstetrical unit, which can be used in our hospital for checking a pregnant woman. This Foetal Doppler adopts high resolution LCD, it is able to show the fetal heartbeat waveform and calculate the fetal heart rate The setup of this instrument is equivalent to the fetal heart rate detection Doppler principles, and ultrasound output intensity, to ensure the safe use, high sensitivity ultrasound transducer, for 12 weeks of pregnancy; it can clearly hear the fetal heart tone.

Infrared Coagulation Machine for PILES

Infrared photocoagulation (also called coagulation therapy) is a medical procedure used to treat small- and medium-sized hemorrhoids.
During the procedure, the doctor uses a device that creates an intense beam of infrared light. Heat created by the infrared light cause's scar tissue, which cuts off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid. The hemorrhoid dies, and a scar forms on the wall of the anal canal. The scar tissue holds nearby veins in place so they don't bulge into the anal canal.
Only one hemorrhoid can be treated at a time. Other hemorrhoids may be treated at 10- to 14-day intervals.

This medical procedure may be done with other devices, such as a laser or electrical current, that also cut off a hemorrhoid's blood supply.
Infrared photocoagulation is done in a doctor's office. You may feel heat and some pain during the procedure. Afterward, you may have a sensation of fullness in the lower abdomen. Or you may feel as if you need to have a bowel movement.

Infertility Treatment

Infertility means not being able to get pregnant after one year of trying. Or, six months, if a woman is 35 or older. Women who can get pregnant but are unable to stay pregnant may also be infertile.
Pregnancy is the result of a process that has many steps. To get pregnant:
A woman must release an egg from one of her ovaries (ovulation). The egg must go through a Fallopian tube toward the uterus (womb).
A man's sperm must join with (fertilize) the egg along the way. The fertilized egg must attach to the inside of the uterus (implantation).

Complete Vaccination

Although child vaccination rates remain high, some parental concern persists that vaccines might cause autism. Three specific hypotheses have been proposed: (1) the combination measles-mumps-rubella vaccine causes autism by damaging the intestinal lining, which allows the entrance of encephalopathic proteins; (2) thimerosal, an ethyl mercury-containing preservative in some vaccines, is toxic to the central nervous system; and (3) the simultaneous administration of multiple vaccines overwhelms or weakens the immune system. We will discuss the genesis of each of these theories and review the relevant epidemiological evidence.

A worldwide increase in the rate of autism diagnoses—likely driven by broadened diagnostic criteria and increased awareness—has fueled concerns that an environmental exposure like vaccines might cause autism. Theories for this putative association have centered on the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, thimerosal, and the large number of vaccines currently administered. However, both epidemiological and biological studies fail to support these claims.
